As a Christian organization, we are transparent about our faith as followers of Jesus.
We are sensitive to the unique cultures and diversity represented in our program, and we provide a welcoming and respectful environment to students of all nationalities, backgrounds, and religious affiliations.
We use Cambridge Ventures, a globally recognized curriculum which provides six levels with standards- based, integrated skills for adult education, aligned to WIOA (Workforce Innovation Opportunity Act), NRS (National Readiness Standards), English Language Proficiency, and College and Career Readiness standards.
We also include a short Bible story, verse, and/or prayer during each class. Participation in these activities is optional; we welcome students to decline participation if they do not feel comfortable.
Our volunteers come from many denominations, backgrounds, and political affiliations. We are united in our mission to follow the Biblical command to “love the foreigner” (Deut 10:18, Lev 19:33-34, Psalm 146:9, Matt 25:35). Through the simple act of teaching English, we help our immigrant neighbors to improve their lives in the USA through quality education. Meeting a practical need is a way for us to tangibly demonstrate the love and value that God has for every person.
